Better Business Bureau Scam (8/13/12)

The following email scam attempts to install malware on its victim’s computers. It tries to trick its victim into clicking the link, which directs the victim to a malware hosting site. Keep in mind, before you click on a link, make sure that you hover your mouse over it to see where the link is taking you. The following scam is a malicious email scam aimed to infect your workstation. The tell tale signs in this email include the sense of urgency conveyed through the email, generic message used, and a mention of Florida law. Please make sure that you hover your mouse over a link to verify its legitimacy prior to clicking on the link, and if you are unsure of the legitimacy of a email, please feel free to contact the VCU HelpIT center at 828-2227 or helpIT@vcu.edu for assistance.
