Fill Position — Scam (2/22/2018)

The following is a scam that tricks its victims into thinking that they are applying for a job. The scammer sends out a false job offer that is often too good to be true. In this case the scammer ask the victim to wait for further instructions, which will ask for personal information (Social, address, phone number) which will be used to impersonate the person.

To spot a scam like this consider the offer. Does it sound too good to be true? The email is being sent from a non-business address with a different name than the sender.

Remember if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is a scam.
